Design on a Dime

My lovely and talented daughter, Jordan, is visiting me for the weekend. She has great design sense, so I enlisted her help in smartening up the house.

Rowdy and I had been looking at a leather sectional for the family room, to replace our tacky futon. It took me about 20 minutes to get to the furniture store after I left him at the airport. A week and a half later, we had a lovely new sofa.

Of course, the new couch makes the Target bookshelf look even tackier than ever, so it needed something new. A visit to Cost Plus took care of that.

Jordan and I went to Target, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, ZGallerie and Pier 1 to find pillows for both the sofa and a little sofa that Rowdy and I have in our bedroom. I really know nothing about decorating, but Jordan has a real talent for it. We bought eight pillows at Pier 1. They were a great bargain; one of them only cost $5! I am so pleased at how things turned out. My very favorite grouping is the one on the bedroom sofa.
